Scholarship Description:

Eligibility criteria:
The research group uses a combination of molecular biology, bioinformatics, epigenetics and genomics to study the biological issues related to gene damage repair and cancer development, with a specific focus on the repair of gene damage caused by environmental carcinogens (aflatoxins, ultraviolet light, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzo(a)pyrene from smoking) and how gene damage induces gene mutations that lead to the development of related cancers (liver, skin and lung cancers).
