Scholarship Description:
University College London (UCL), founded in London in 1826, is a public research university, the founding college of the University of London Alliance, a founding member of the Russell Group of Universities and the European Research University Alliance. It is also known as one of the “G5 Super Elite Universities”.
University College London was founded on 11 February 1826, originally as London University. Given that the only two universities in England at the time – Oxford and Cambridge – were strictly ecclesiastical, University College London was intended to be a secular alternative to universities of a religious nature. From the outset, University College London was founded and developed as a comprehensive university, rather than as a mere college or research institution.
In 2021-22, UCL was ranked 8th in the QS World University Rankings, 16th in the U.S. News World University Rankings, 16th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 17th in the Soft Science World University Academic Rankings.

Eligibility criteria:
- The EPSRC DTP Studentship provides a living costs allowance (£20,668 in 2022/23), full fees and a research support grant. Applications are welcome from students with family and international fee status, and international students are eligible for a 30% bursary and full international fees are included.
- These projects proposed by the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources are part of a University College London wide competition for approximately 60 studentships which will be awarded across University College London as part of the University College London EPSRC DTP. 60 successful proposals will be selected following interviews with applicants.
