Scholarship Description:
Dr. Jiahe Li’s project at the University of Michigan is recruiting 2 postdocs
Jiahe Li received his PhD in biomedical engineering from Cornell University in 2015, where he used synthetic biology approaches and cell biology to engineer bacteria and platelets as a platform for the treatment of metastatic cancer. From 2015 to 2018, he received postdoctoral training at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, where he gained complementary expertise in polymer science and gene delivery. He began his assistant faculty position in the Department of Bioengineering at Northeastern University in 2019 and currently receives research funding from the NIH, Department of Defense, NSF, and support from multiple biotechnology companies. The research group is focused on the development of molecular and live cell-based therapeutics with an emphasis on using innovative synthetic biology and drug delivery approaches to improve human and animal health in a sustainable manner.
The lab’s current website https://web.northeastern.edu/lilab is available for reference. He will join the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor beginning in May 2023. Ann Arbor has two strong disciplines, the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry, in addition to the School of Engineering. The Future Lab is looking for 2 postdocs or technicians with experience in molecular biology, microbiology, bioengineering, drug delivery, or synthetic chemistry with start dates in June 2023 or later.
Fort Anna’s main campus is safe and secure and is conveniently located only 45 minutes from Detroit International Airport, the largest city in the world. Fort Anna is ranked as one of the best places to live. Here is a brief description of the city and the department https://bme.umich.edu/about/ann-arbor/ .
