Scholarship Description:
The group works on hydrology, meteorology, water resources, the impact of climate change on water, energy and society, hydrological modelling and pavement model parameter correction, machine learning and data mining, and the development and use of hydroelectric power generation. The University of Oklahoma (OU) is a public research university in Norman, Oklahoma. Founded in 1890, it had existed in Oklahoma Territory near Indian Territory for 17 years before the two became the state of Oklahoma. The university is classified among “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity”. OU/NOAA’s National Weather Center (NWC) houses a unique collection of university, state, federal, and private sector organizations that work together to improve the understanding of events related to the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Norman, Moore, Oklahoma City, and Edmond metro area consists of a great abundance of restaurants, groceries, entertainment, features a mix of cultures from western American, Modern, Asian, and many others and with affordable costs. Concerts, theaters, Zoos, museums, rodeos, river walk, and all kinds of entertainments and outdoor (lake/hot springs/mountains) activities are throughout the year.

Eligibility criteria:
- PhD students can start as early as autumn 2022 or spring 2023.
- Postdocs can start at any time. Preference will be given to those with excellent grades and relevant research experience in: machine learning, deep learning, hydrological modelling, land surface modelling, climate change, satellite and radar data analysis.
