Scholarship Description:
The belongs to the Department of Defense of the United States and is located in the suburb of Washington D.C.. Candidates should be recent PhD or MD graduates with no more than 3 years after graduation. The selected candidate will study systemic inflammation-induced multi-organ injury with focus on acute kidney injury, using cell culture, various mouse and porcine models. The extensive experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques such as immunoblotting, qPCR and flow cytometry, and generation of transgenic mice is preferred. Knowledge of how to perform cecal ligation puncture and measure transcutaneous GFR, and study acute lung injury is a plus. Passion to medical science and self-motivation as evidenced by a strong publication record are essential. Without them, it would be very hard to be successful and happy in the laboratory. Salary and fringe benefits will be same to the American junior post-doctoral fellows’ salary and benefits at the university.
