Scholarship Description:

The research aims to study the molecular pathogenesis of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and atherosclerosis (https://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/bishuang-cai-lab/) focusing on the roles of macrophages and hepatocytes. Recent publications appeared in Cell Metabolism, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and PNAS. The laboratory applies technologies such as transgenic mouse models, human genetics, single-cell/nuclei RNA sequencing, and a variety of cell and molecular techniques. 

Available Subjects:

Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology or related field.

Eligibility criteria:

Benefits and salary: all postdoctoral fellows are provided with the benefits according to the university standard (medical and dental insurance, retirement, etc.). The salary is paid at a rate higher than the NIH pay level. The qualified candidates should be highly motivated in research and have a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology or related field upon the start date.
