Scholarship Description:
Our innovative research program uses cutting- edge technologies to optimize a novel strategy of graft manipulation (alpha/beta T-cell/CD19 B- cell depleted haploidentical stem cell transplantation) for treating children with malignant and non-malignant disorders. Our group aims to understand the impact of the graft composition on the outcome of children affected by malignant and life-threatening non-malignant disorders, further engineer the graft to improve graft-versus-leukemia and minimize graft-versus-host disease and enable the use of gamma/delta (gd) T cells for cancer immunotherapy.

Eligibility criteria:
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, stem cell biology, developmental biology, immunology, or cancer biology.
- The candidate should have expertise in cell and molecular biology, and animal handling in addition to some of the following preferred laboratory techniques: cell culture, gene editing/transcription and virus transfection, flow cytometry.
- The candidate is expected to have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-initiative and motivation, excellent communication, teamwork, data processing, written and oral presentation and problem-solving skills are desired.
- English proficiency is required.
