Scholarship Description:
The Duan lab focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms and developing therapeutics and translatable neuroimaging biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases. A multifaceted array of experimental models of neurodegenerative disorders is being employed in our laboratory. Data obtained in the experimental models are integrated with those obtained in treatment trials to identify and validate the molecular and cellular mechanisms that lead to selective neuronal degeneration and facilitate biomarker translation to clinical trials.
