Columbia University, USA, is hiring a postdoctoral researcher

Scholarship: Fully-funded
Degree: Ph.D
Nationality: International Students
Location: USA
Application deadlines: Open

Scholarship Description:

The Yang Lab is part of Columbia University’s Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the Irving Cancer Center. The lab focuses on tumor evolution, drug resistance mechanisms, and developing new molecular recording technologies. It uses multidisciplinary approaches, including CRISPR-based recording tools to track tumor history, genetically engineered mouse models for tumor progression, and single-cell genomics to analyze tumor heterogeneity.

Building on Dr. Yang’s CRISPR technology, the lab integrates cancer biology, immunology, single-cell multi-omics, spatial transcriptomics, functional genomics, computational biology, and synthetic biology to decode cancer evolution. Research includes developing genetically engineered mouse models to study molecular mechanisms of cancer evolution, metastasis, and drug resistance. Current projects focus on (1) dissecting molecular mechanisms of cancer cell state transitions, (2) exploring immune cell-tumor interactions and identifying new immune checkpoints, and (3) creating “molecular time machines” to record cell state transitions.
