Scholarship Description:
The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas is seeking multiple Postdoctoral Research Associates and Ph.D. students whose work will focus on artificial intelligence and robotics. The selected candidates will utilize thestate-of-the-art artificial intelligence, robotics, and manufacturing techniques to design mobile autonomous surface swabbing platforms to facilitate biosensing and food safety applications in the poultry processing plant. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Dongyi Wang and collaborate with other faculties from University of Arkansas and Georgia Tech to design the experiment, write high-quality manuscripts, mentor students, coordinate research and extension teams, and participate in grant writing.
Available Subjects:
- Biosystems/Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must have strong track record or interests in robotic control and manipulation, path planning, navigation and/or computer vision. The candidate needs to be familiar with commonly used programming language and open source libraries or platforms. The candidate is expected to have good communication and technical writing skills.
