Scholarship Description:

Jiahong Chen, Associate Professor and PhD Supervisor at the City University of Hong Kong, received his M.S. degree from Harvard University (2006), PhD from Cambridge University (2010), and Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (2012), and was selected as a Lab on a Chip Emerging Investigator in 2017 and Stanford’s “Top 2% most highly cited scientist” in 2022. Dr Chen’s group focuses on the application of microfluidics in the biomedical field to analyse cellular heterogeneity in human disease. The aim is to develop advanced tools to optimise diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for cancer, infectious diseases and other complex diseases to achieve precision medicine. He has published more than 75 scientific papers, many of them in top international journals such as Nature Communications, PNAS, JACS, Advanced Materials, Lab on a Chip, Analytical Chemistry, etc. He has made outstanding contributions to the field of biomedical analysis and detection.
