Scholarship Description:
Our research focuses on understanding the biology of pancreatic cancer initiation and early progression and how late-stage pancreatic tumour cells escape treatment, and we actively collaborate with clinicians and industry partners to develop innovative assays for early cancer detection and identify more effective treatments for pancreatic cancer. As a pioneer in the development and use of human organoid models for cancer research, Dr Huang has published highly impactful reports in academic journals such as Nature Medicine, Cell Stem Cells, etc.
The Henry Ford Pancreatic Cancer Center was established with a $36 million gift from an anonymous donor. Scientists at our centre have on-site access to instruments for advanced confocal microscopy, high-content imaging, single-cell transcriptomics, histology, automated drug delivery and other cutting-edge technologies for biomedical research. Henry Ford Health, an academic affiliate of Michigan State University, provides cancer care to more than 14,000 patients annually, making us uniquely positioned to conduct translational cancer research.

Eligibility criteria:
- Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or anticipate such a degree at the time of position start
- Background in biological research. Must have research experiences in one or more of the following fields: cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, developmental biology, cancer genetics, or related areas.
- Self-motivated to conduct innovative research and be proficient in English for scientific communications and writing.
