Scholarship Description:

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway’s leading national engineering and technology center, located in Trondheim, South Trøndelag County, and is a member of the Nordic Five. NTNU traces its roots back to the establishment of the Trondheim Society in 1760, which was recognized by the Norwegian Royal Family in 1767 and renamed the Royal Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), and in 1996 the NTH was merged with the Trondheim School of Arts and Sciences and the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology to form NTNU. In 2016, NTNU merged with Høgskolen i Gjøvik and Høgskolen i Ålesund to form the new Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) under the Ministry of Education and Research’s Public University Merger Programme.
NTNU is ranked 113th in the world in the 2022 QS World Rankings in Engineering and Technology. The sub-disciplines: Petroleum Engineering (37), Architecture (51-100), and Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering are ranked 101-150 in the world respectively.
NTNU has had five alumni win Nobel Prizes, including the 2014 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
