Scholarship Description:
Dr. Qian Li holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Missouri and completed postdoctoral training in statistical genomics and bioinformatics at Moffitt Cancer Center. Previously, she was a research assistant professor at the Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida, before joining the Biostatistics department at St. Jude as an Assistant Member (Assistant Professor).
Her research centers on statistical and machine learning analyses of multi-omics data in pediatric cancers, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomics. Dr. Li has authored over ten publications as first or senior/corresponding author in journals such as Bioinformatics, Genome Biology, Genome Medicine, and the Journal of NCI. Her recent methodological work includes algorithms for cell type deconvolution, high-resolution purification, and the integration of single-cell multi-omics data.
Available Subjects:
- Single cell or spatial multi-omics, cell free DNA methylation, longitudinal omics data
- Develop innovative and generalizable methods and tools that can be applied to the in-house molecular data in pediatric cancers, such as pediatric CNS tumors and leukemia.
Eligibility criteria:
- Successful applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly motivated in biomedical research and interpretation.
- A Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or computer science is required.
- Strong computational background with programming and visualization skills in R and Python is required. Programming in C or C++ is a plus.
- Background in statistical genomics, longitudinal modeling, non-parametric statistics, machine learning and deep learning are preferred and encouraged to apply.
