Temple University is a prominent public research university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, established in 1884. Known for its diverse and inclusive campus culture, the university offers rich internship and employment opportunities, enhancing career prospects for graduates. It boasts a strong faculty and a wide range of academic disciplines, receiving substantial research funding to support interdisciplinary studies. Temple provides extensive opportunities and resources for academic research and career development, making it an ideal place for learning and innovation.

Situated in downtown Philadelphia, the university enjoys a prime location near major cities like New York, Boston, and Baltimore, offering ample cultural, historical, and career development opportunities. Philadelphia is a well-developed city with convenient public transportation, reducing reliance on cars. The presence of a large Chinatown and numerous Asian supermarkets adds to the convenience of daily life, while the relatively low cost of living makes it an attractive place for both living and research.

Dr. Rongsheng Wang is an associate professor and Ph.D. advisor in the Department of Chemistry at Temple University and the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He studied under renowned chemist Peter G. Schultz. Since starting his independent career, Dr. Wang has received several prestigious awards, including the NSF Career Award, NIH MIRA Award, and the Cottrell Scholar Award from the Research Corporation for Science Advancement. He has been recognized as a Rising Star by the International Chemical Biology Society and the American Chemical Society, and as an Emerging Young Investigator by the ACS Medicinal Chemistry Division.

The research group has ample funding and a strong research atmosphere, focusing on scientific study, international exchange, and collaboration. They lead various projects funded by the NSF, NIH, and private foundations, maintaining close partnerships with companies like Merck, GSK, and AstraZeneca. Current research explores mechanisms of cancer, immune system function, and neurodegenerative diseases, utilizing techniques such as protein molecular probes, proteomics, and cell biology imaging to identify new protein targets and develop peptide and small-molecule drugs. Dr. Wang has published nearly 50 papers as first or corresponding author in top journals like PNAS, Nature Communications, and JACS.
