Scholarship Description:
We are inviting highly motivated and creative applicants for two post-doctoral positions in the laboratory of Dr. Chun-Jun (CJ) Guo at Weill Cornell Medicine. Our laboratory is in the Jill Roberts Institute for Research in Inflammatory Bowel Disease housed in the new Belfer Research Building. We apply a combination of bioinformatics, microbial genetics, metabolomics, and chemical biology technique to study how the human microbiota- derived small molecules and metabolic pathways affect host biology. We are interested in using genetically engineered bacteria, and germ-free and other mouse models to understand the microbe-microbe and microbe-host interaction at the level of molecular mechanism. Our lab is supported by multiple funding mechanisms including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Program, W.M. Keck Foundation, and internal grants from WCM, etc.
Available Subjects:
Immunology, Microbiology, Chemical Biology, Bioinformatics
Eligibility criteria:
Candidates with diverse research backgrounds are welcome to apply. A Ph.D. or equivalent in Immunology, Microbiology, Chemical Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field is recommended. We are very excited about the researchers with technical expertise in two or more of the following: microbial genetics (CRISPR/Cas9), microbial bioinformatics, GC/LC mass data analysis, or multi-parameter flow cytometry. Please be noted that this will be a co-mentored position by Professor David Artis and me at the JRI. The candidate will also have the opportunity to interact with many other great scientists in the TriI community (Weill Cornell Medicine-The Rockefeller University-Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center).
Application Process
If you are interested, please send a cover letter describing your research background, interests, and career goals, as well as the names and addresses of three references and a CV, to Dr. Chun-Jun (CJ) Guo at cj@guo-group.org.
