Scholarship Description:

Dr. Chao Peng joined UCLA in January 2020 as a tenure track assistant professor. He completed his postdoctoral training with Virginia Lee (Fellow of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Director of the University of Pennsylvania Institute on Aging) and John Trojanowski (Fellow of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Director of the University of Pennsylvania Institute on Aging). Dr Chao Peng has focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of a variety of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s disease, multiple system atrophy, and Alzheimer’s disease, revealing a unique perspective on the origins of disease diversity and building next-generation disease models. He has published high quality papers in top journals such as Nature, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Reviews Neurology as first or corresponding author. Eligibility criteria:

  1. have obtained or will obtain a PhD degree and published papers in important academic journals as first author.
  2. be conscientious, passionate about research, have academic aspirations, and have a rigorous research attitude and team spirit.
  3. have good communication and writing skills in English.
  4. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant research experience in neurobiology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, protein purification, etc. Other candidates with a strong interest in biology and medicine are also welcome to interview and communicate with the laboratory.
