Scholarship Description:
Dr. Qian Lou is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at UCF, where he supervises PhD students. Prior to that, he was a Senior Research Scientist at Samsung Research AI Center, where he received the Best Paper Award. Dr. Lou is committed to proposing new technologies to solve real-world problems, and his experience in industry and academia will help him systematically mentor students. Dr. Lou has also served as an organizer, committee member and reviewer for several academic conferences and platforms, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, AAAI, FHE.

Eligibility criteria:
- Deep Learning: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Multi-modal model, On-device ML, Model Compression, Transformer, Hardware Acceleration.
- Security & Privacy: Privacy-preserving Machine Learning, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, Multi-Party Computation, Zero-Knowledge Proof, Differential Privacy, Federated Learning, Trusted Execution Environment, Backdoor Attack and Defense.
- Systems & Computer Architecture: Hardware-software Co-design, Efficient and Secure Systems, GPU/FPGA acceleration.
