We invite you to join the brain ultrasound lab at Washington University in St. Louis to advance this cutting-edge interdisciplinary field. Our mission is to translate breakthroughs in neuroscience into innovative solutions for brain diseases through medical ultrasound technology. We are currently seeking passionate and promising postdoctoral researchers to collaborate on scientific exploration and accelerate clinical translation of results.
The lab is part of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Neurosurgery at Washington University, and our research is supported by the NIH Pioneer Award and several NIH grants. For more information about postdoctoral opportunities at Washington University, please visit:
Washington University Postdocs
Available Subjects:
- Innovative Therapies: Advance ultrasound-based interventions for neurological diseases, including neuromodulation, sonobiopsy, and sonogenetics.
- Device Development: Design, build, and validate new ultrasound equipment for non-invasive brain intervention and imaging.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, neuroscientists, molecular biologists, medical imaging experts, and clinicians on systematic research projects.
- Accelerate Clinical Translation: Lead preclinical animal studies and assist in developing early human application plans to drive key technologies into clinical use.
Eligibility criteria:
- We welcome creative and open-minded candidates, especially those willing to challenge conventions and take research risks.
- The ideal candidate should have strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt to a multidisciplinary research environment.
- A PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, ultrasound technology, physics, or related fields is required.
- Candidates should have research papers published as the first author or relevant patents to demonstrate their ability to independently conduct and complete research projects.
