Scholarship Description:
The research lab led by Dr Bangxing Hong, located at Augusta University’s Georgia Cancer Centre is looking to appoint two postdoctoral fellows. The lab’s concentration is on using cellular immunotherapy and lysosomal viruses in the treatment of tumours. Requirements:Successful applicants will work alongside other researchers, clinical translational researchers and physicians within the Oncology Centre.
PhD in Biology or Medicine completed within the past 1-3 years with relevant research experience in molecular biology and immunology and publications in pertinent professional journals. Good spoken and written English proficiency. Able to collaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel. Experience in laboratory animal research is advantageous.

- The successful candidate will get the chance to work alongside and learn from a diverse team of basic and translational scientists at Georgia Cancer Center.Their main responsibilities for the role will involve managing cell culture, conducting immune and molecular assays, carrying out intricate experiments, helping to create new techniques and procedures, analyzing complex research data, supporting the principal investigator with the handling of mouse models and writing research papers for publication.
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates for the postdoctoral fellow position must have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. It is recommended that they have experience in tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy that has led to publication in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates should possess sturdy skills in immunology, biochemistry, and molecular biology with a history of peer-reviewed publications, as well as proficiency in written and oral scientific presentations.
