University of Texas at Austin seeks fully-funded PhD students and postdoctoral researchers

Scholarship: Fully-funded
Degree: B.S./M.S./Ph.D
Nationality: International Students
Location: USA
Application deadlines: Open

Scholarship Description:

The Guan lab studies biophysics and cell biology. This discovery is groundbreaking. They focus on biomolecular condensates and how they can be applied in biomedical and biotechnological applications. The lab discovered a new type of condensate-promoting motifs, which is linked to cancer. We use our technical know-how in fluorescence imaging, biophysics, and cell biology to tackle crucial and testing issues in biomolecular condensates. By doing so, we will gain knowledge on how to avoid, identify, and cure condensate-related diseases. Our intention is to apply our findings to regulate cell signalling.

 Available Subjects:

  • The laboratory’s research is at the interdisciplinary biophysical crossroads, focusing on novel cancer mechanisms triggered by protein phase separation.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Postdoctoral Requirements: We prefer applicants who have a strong interest in research and possess good research skills, a background in cell biology or biochemistry, and expertise in biological experimental procedures such as mammalian cell culture and Western Blot.
  • PhD Requirements: We are looking for applicants who have a keen scientific interest and a background in cell biology or biochemistry. All applicants must apply online by 1st December through https://gradschool.utexas.edu/admissions/apply.
