Scholarship Description:

The laboratory uses molecular and cellular-based approaches to study the functions of CD1 and MHC class Ib molecules in infectious disease and autoimmune disease. On going projects are focused on investigating the mechanisms responsible for unique phenotype of lipid antigen-specific CD1-restricted T cells in infection and inflammatory conditions, and determining the efficacy of subunit lipid vaccines in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Available Subjects:

Cellular and molecular immunology, including expertise in animal models and flow cytometry;

Eligibility criteria:

Qualifications also include strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, an ability to work independently, and commitment to laboratory research. Funding for this position is for two years with opportunity for renewal. Northwestern University also provides health insurance for postdoctoral researchers and their dependents.
