The postdoctoral fellow will work on NIH-funded projects focused on elucidating the mechanism of mitochondrial DNA turnover (Nucleic Acids Res. 2023, 51(1):41-53; Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2019, 116(36):17792-17799). The candidate will have access to the laboratory’s expertise in DNA damage and repair, mitochondrial biology, enzymology, nucleic acid chemistry and proteomics. Details can be found at https://zhaolab.ucr.edu.
The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to interact with staff in the core facilities to acquire skills in proteomics, genomics, DNA sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics. The fellow will also have the opportunity to develop skills in scientific communication, student supervision and laboratory management.
