Scholarship Description:
The Gao Lab at Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Pharmacology is hiring a postdoctoral researcher focused on tumor gene regulation. The lab employs advanced multi-omics technologies to systematically analyze the oncogenic mechanisms of transcription factors and explore potential therapeutic targets.
For more information, please visit the lab’s homepage: Gao Lab.
Dr. Yuan Gao earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and completed her postdoctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. In 2024, she established an independent lab at Case Western Reserve University, focusing on tumor epigenetic regulation and the discovery of novel drug targets.
Dr. Gao’s research has been published in top international journals, including Nature Cell Biology, PNAS, Nucleic Acids Research, Cancer Cell, and Nature Genetics, with some work selected as cover articles by Nature Cell Biology. She has received funding from the Simons Foundation for Cancer Research and the NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award.
Available Subjects:
- Tumor gene regulation
Eligibility criteria:
- Ph.D. degree in biology, cancer biology, cell biology, genetics, or related fields obtained or expected.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, mouse models, and bioinformatics analysis.
- Ability to think independently and solve problems, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of conducting research independently while also being a team player.
