Scholarship Description:
Dr. Xueqiang Wang (https://xw48.github.io/) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy (https://cyber.cs.ucf.edu/) at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and is currently enrolling several full-award PhD students (entering in Fall 2023) interested in cyberspace security. Prior to joining UCF, Xueqiang Wang received his PhD from Indiana University, and his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China and the Institute of Information Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. Dr. Wang’s research has been published in prestigious international conferences and journals such as S&P, USENIX Security, CCS, NDSS, and TDSC, including two papers in the top 10 of CSAW Best Application Security Papers Awards. He is also one of the inventors of two US patents. In addition, Dr. Wang has interned and worked at Symantec Research Labs, AmazonLab126, etc. He has extensive experience in smart device security, security automation, and vulnerability analysis and management.
Dr. Wang’s research interests focus on IoT security, mobile security, software supply chain security, privacy protection and compliance detection, and is dedicated to researching design flaws and security vulnerabilities, malicious code and cybercrime in real systems and applications through software analysis and data-driven approaches. In addition, the Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy, where Dr. Wang works, covers the research areas of system security, network security, software engineering, trusted computing, AI security, privacy and policy, and interested students can participate in cross-field security research.
