(2) Postdoctoral Position Summary/Title: Research Assistant/Associate Researcher in Rendering of 3D HDR Displays (Fixed Term)
We have a position available to work on the rendering of hyper-realistic 3D HDR displays with a start date of March to June 2023. The aim of the project is to develop new rendering techniques for future display technologies, capable of reproducing realistic depth cues, accurate colours and high dynamic range. The successful candidate will use traditional computer graphics, neural and image-based rendering methods to generate highly realistic content for our hyper-realistic displays (https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/research/rainbow/projects/hdrmfs/). Our goal is to create a pipeline that allows us to capture a 3D scene with high colour and geometric accuracy, represent it effectively and then render it in real time on our displays. We are particularly interested in the reproduction of skin tones and specular materials.

(4) Postdoctoral position summary/title: Visual models and metrics for deep learning and optimisation
A position is available to work on deep learning and optimisation of visual models and metrics. The project aims to develop a range of image/video cost functions and evaluation metrics that predict the perceptual degradation of visual quality, taking into account important factors such as display size or colour gamut. (7) Postdoctoral Position Summary/Title: Assistant Researcher (Duke-Correa Lab) (Fixed Term)
This project will focus on understanding the effects of whipworm infection on the fate of intestinal epithelial stem cells, and on stromal and immune cell responses that lead to changes in mucosal physiology and inflammation that allow chronic infections to occur. Specifically, the project will describe changes in gene expression (using bulk, single cell and spatial transcriptomics) in intestinal epithelial cells and stem cell niches during infection and after parasite eradication. Parasite-regulated stem cell remodelling pathways will be further investigated using lineage tracing and imaging techniques, and stem cell and stromal cell functions will be assessed using organoid assays. We anticipate that this work will lead to fundamental new knowledge about the whipworm mucosal niche, potentially yielding new targets for anti-parasitic therapies and providing new insights into how intestinal epithelial cells repair damage, with relevant applications in intestinal inflammatory diseases.

(10) Postdoctoral position summary/title: Molecular and Cellular Metabolism (fixed term)
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly committed postdoctoral scientist to join the laboratory of Professor Sadaf Farooqi (www.goos.org.uk), which is recognised as being at the forefront of international research in understanding the genetic basis of human obesity. We are initiating a new and exciting research programme to identify the mechanisms that keep some people thin in an obesogenic environment. Our goal is to determine how genetic variants found in persistently lean populations (www.stilts.org.uk) affect key molecular and cellular mechanisms such as thermogenesis, lipolysis and the neural regulation of appetite. This work has strong translational potential and will support the identification and validation of novel weight loss drug targets.
