Scholarship Description:

Dr. Yuanyuan Liu obtained his BS degree at Nanjing University and his PhD at the State University of New York. He completed his postdoc training in Dr. Zhigang He’s lab at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. During his postdoc career, he optimized an elegant, multi-step viral-based intersectional targeting tool, which he used to dissect the role of corticospinal neurons in controlling distinct spinal circuits involved in fine motor control and tactile sensation. He joined NIDCR/NCCIH in 2020 and will continue his work to decipher the supraspinal circuits which control somatosensory perception and pain.

Available Subjects:

In vivo imaging/recording, electrophysiology, rodent behavior, and/or single cell sequencing. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate should have first-authored research paper(s) in related areas, and good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Candidates are expected to conduct independent research and cooperatively work with other colleagues.
  • Salary and benefits will be set commensurate with experience and qualifications as well as NIH guidelines for intramural research training awards.
