Ms. Hang Liu received her PhD from George Washington University in 2017, and then joined the University of Massachusetts Lowell as an assistant professor. Then, in 2019, Mr. Hang Liu joined the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology as an assistant professor. His research has been published in major top conferences and journals on high performance data analytics (SC, HPDC, SIGMOD, VLDB, USENIX FAST, USENIX ATC, Eurosys, ISCA, EMNLP, IJCAI and TPDS, etc.). Liu Hang’s group also has an unwritten rule for articles: we must release the source code of the system we build on GitHub. So, you may also see that many of Mr. Liu’s systems have a lot of star and fork on GitHub.
Currently, our lab has five PhD students, a master’s degree, and several undergraduate students. Specifically, the PhD students’ research interests include machine learning acceleration, applying machine learning to solve key problems in computing, graph computing, learning and mining, and high-performance linear systems computing. Student diversity is one of the characteristics of our lab. In our lab, we have the familiar Chinese students, as well as Nepalese and American students.
