Scholarship Description:

The laboratory of Rui Guo, Ph.D. in the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at Tufts University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Visiting Scholar. Our laboratory is primarily concerned with the study of the molecular mechanism of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and cancer development and progression. Our research interests include (1) the interaction between virus and host cell metabolism, (2) the molecular mechanism of virus-induced cellular metabolism and epigenetic reprogramming, (3) the molecular mechanism of environmental factors (e.g. nutrient supply) in concert with EBV carcinogenesis using multi-omics and isotope tracing methods. We welcome students interested in EBV and cancer research to join our team.

Rui Guo graduated from Kansas State University in 2018 and joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow in 2022. He joined Harvard Medical School as an instructor in 2022 and will join Tufts University as an assistant professor in July 2023. He is currently publishing as first or co-first author in Nature Microbiology, Molecular Cell, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, Blood, PLoS Pathogens, mBio, JVI, and other journals. He is currently the principal investigator for the NIH/NIDCR research program.

Tufts University (Tufts) is a prestigious American university, one of the top five schools in Boston (Harvard University, MIT, Tufts University, Boston College, and Brandeis University) and one of the 25 new members of the Ivy League. Tufts University School of Medicine is located in the heart of Boston, adjacent to Boston’s Chinatown. Comfortable living and great food.
