  • Subject 1: A postdoctoral position related to intelligent design and operation of the built environment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta.

You will work with our esteemed researcher, Dr Yuxiang Chen, in the Intelligent Design and Operations in the Built Environment (IDOBE) laboratory. This position provides research opportunities in the areas of intelligent/computational design, robotic on-site/off-site construction, physical-based and/or data-driven performance modelling and testing, and predictive control/operation. Research topics pertain to net zero energy buildings, hybrid HVAC systems and large timber frame buildings.

  • Subject 2: Postdoctoral Researcher in Biopolymer Science/Engineering

We are looking to fill the exciting role of Postdoctoral Researcher in Biopolymer Science/Engineering here at the University of Alberta. This position is an excellent opportunity to be part of an interdisciplinary research project in collaboration with research teams studying larger topics.

The successful candidate will work with Dr Aman Ullah and Dr Tariq Siddique, combining reactor design, biopolymer synthesis and applied biopolymer research. The potential of biopolymers for use in water remediation will be investigated.

  • Subject 3: Multimodal Researcher on Instruction Systems in Mandarin Interaction

We are pleased to announce a postdoctoral position in the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Alberta, supervised by Dr Xiaoting Li. This position is for a Multimodal Researcher on Instruction Systems in Mandarin Interaction, beginning on January 1, 2023 (or slightly later by agreement).

The successful candidate will be involved in a research project on multimodality in command systems in Mandarin interaction. This includes collecting data, transcribing data, participating in data analysis and research dissemination (publications and presentations). The successful candidate will also assist Dr Li in coordinating the interdisciplinary research team which includes researchers in psychology, gesture research and computer engineering (machine learning).
