  1. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position Summary/Title: 14 BRIDGE Postdoctoral Fellowships – Translational Excellence Program
Your research project must cover the early translational phase T₀ (disease modeling, histology studies, basic research)-T₁ (biomarker discovery, target development, preclinical development) and should bridge the basic biomedical research environment and the clinical research environment to make the research project realistically interdisciplinary in nature. Your project must be at the postdoctoral level, should address a relevant medical challenge, and should be ambitious but feasible within a two-year timeframe. Your research project must be developed in collaboration with your mentor team and is an essential part of the recruitment process to become a BRIDGE Fellow.

  4. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position Summary/Title: Data Science
We are looking for data science researchers who are interested in interdisciplinary research collaborations and have a solid foundation in machine learning and image processing. The responsibilities of the position will include the following.
Participate in the development, implementation, and management of high-throughput phenotyping (image acquisition and analysis) software.
Conduct methodological research in image processing, 3D modeling, point clouds (from LiDAR and/or SFM), vegetation indices, and plant morphology.
Prepare drafts and participate as an author and co-author of technical papers, relevant scientific papers, conference papers, reports, etc., focusing on research related to phenotypic studies and activities of the Crop Science Department.
Participates in workshops, working groups, and meetings as the department’s technical resource representative.
Mentor, train and supervise scientific staff and potential breeders in private companies as needed

  5. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position Summary/Title: How the physical structure of inter-root soils determines the fate of root-derived carbon in soils
In your part of the project, you will look at the fate of plant root-derived organic matter as a function of 3D soil structure and soil mineral composition. Thus, together we will work to better understand the interactions between plant roots and their properties, microbial activity, and the physical soil structure that regulates the fate of persistent soil organic matter. This work will range from highly controlled laboratory-scale experiments to field trials where we will test root-microbe-soil interactions. You will apply stable isotope tracing, classical soil biogeochemical methods, and state-of-the-art spectroscopic imaging techniques (e.g., scanning electron microscopy, nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry) to support quantitative data through in situ process-scale observations.

  9. Postdoctoral Fellowship Position Summary/Title: Circadian Rhythm Biology and Bioinformatics
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by systemic and tissue-specific metabolic alterations, hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, and peripheral tissue insulin resistance. a risk factor for the development of type 2 diabetes is the disruption of circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are driven by the biological clock, which is synchronized with environmental stimuli such as light, diet and exercise. Research conducted at this postdoctoral position will elucidate the mechanisms by which biological clock mechanisms regulate physiological and epigenetic processes in a circadian manner and how synchronizing the timing of therapeutic interventions (e.g., diet and exercise) to the molecular biological clock can optimize the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
