Dr. Sibiao Wan (https://www.unmc.edu/genetics/faculty/bios/wan.html) is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Assistant Director for Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Core. UNMC is ranked among the top medical schools in the United States (https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools) and is also the Assistant Director for Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Core. /Dr. Wan’s lab focuses on bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology, with a particular focus on single-cell analysis, multi-omics Dr. Wan’s lab focuses on bioinformatics, machine learning, and computational biology, especially single-cell analysis, multi-omics analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and machine learning for intelligent healthcare and precision medicine). The lab focuses on the development and application of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science methods to process and analyze large-scale biological data, especially single-cell data, NGS data, spatial transcriptomics data, or other biomedical data. Dr. Wan has over 12 years of experience in bioinformatics, machine learning and computational biology, and has published in high level journals such as Genome Research, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Circulation Research, Nature Aging, He has published more than 40 articles in high level journals such as Genome Research, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Circulation Research, Nature Aging, Briefings in Bioinformatics and Bioinformatics. Dr. Wan has also served as a permanent and guest editor for a number of high impact journals. In addition, Dr. Wan is a TPC member of more than 20 international conferences related to machine learning, including IEEE ICTAI, and is a regular reviewer for more than 50 high-impact journals, including Nucleic Acids Research, Genomic Medicine, IEEE TNNLS, and Briefings in Bioinformatics. In addition, Dr. Wan is the recipient of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Distinguished Young Alumni Award for 2021-2022.

Eligibility criteria:
- For PhD candidates, at least a bachelor’s degree with a background in bioinformatics, computational biology, computing, automation, informatics, biology, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative sciences, strong programming skills, a background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science is preferred, and a strong interest in single-cell analysis, multi-omics analysis, or spatial transcriptomes and a willingness to pursue related research.
- For postdoctoral applicants, a PhD with a background in bioinformatics, machine learning and computational biology, strong programming skills, and experience in single-cell analysis, multi-omics analysis or spatial transcriptomics are preferred.
