Scholarship Description:
A postdoctoral fellow position is open in Dr. Tuoqi Wu’s lab at the Department of Immunology and the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Ongoing projects include:
- Investigating the molecular mechanisms of T-cell stemness and exhaustion.
- Identifying novel targets to enhance cancer immunotherapy efficacy.
- Exploring age-associated immune dysfunction in the CNS.
Research will employ advanced techniques such as next-generation sequencing, genome editing, bioinformatics, and various molecular and cellular immunology methods.
Dr. Wu holds a Ph.D. from Emory University and conducted postdoctoral research at the NIH. He is currently an assistant professor at UT Southwestern, with research funding from the NIH, Cancer Research Institute, V Foundation, American Federation for Aging Research, and startup funds from UT Southwestern.
Available Subjects:
- Molecular mechanisms regulating T-cell exhaustion and stemness.
- Developing new methods to enhance tumor immunotherapy efficacy.
- The impact of aging on T-cell immune responses in the central nervous system.
Eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must have obtained or be about to obtain a Ph.D. in biology, including immunology, cancer, cell biology, neuroscience, or related fields. Preference will be given to those with experience in handling mouse or patient samples, as well as those with experience in high-throughput sequencing.
