Scholarship Description:
The Cava Lab, located at the Laboratory of Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) and the Department of Molecular Biology (Umeå University), is a research environment focused on bacterial cell wall biology and genetics. Our research integrates basic and clinical investigations.
We aim to enhance our understanding of cell wall biogenesis, remodeling, and regulation, characterize the function of known components, and develop quantitative studies and computational models. This program has potential for novel antimicrobial strategies against multidrug-resistant bacteria.

Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must have a university degree in Molecular Biology or Microbiology equivalent to a European PhD at the time of recruitment. You should be highly motivated, possess strong communication skills, and work well in a team. A good working knowledge of standard molecular biology, microbiology, and biochemistry techniques is required. Expertise in high-throughput genetics (Tn-seq) methods is a plus. Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential.
