Scholarship Description:

Our team is engaged in the identification of new targets, structural and functional mechanisms and application development of diseases related to infection and excessive inflammation, and has built up a research system including virology, immunology and structural biology. He has published dozens of research papers in international journals such as Nature, Molecular Cell, Cell Research, Nature Communications and PNAS. In recent years, the team has discovered a new class of pro-inflammatory molecules that play a key role in various inflammatory diseases and are being applied in collaboration with hospitals and companies.

Salary: The personnel, salary, insurance and welfare of the appointees will be in accordance with the relevant regulations of the State and the relevant rules and regulations of Sun Yat-sen University, with a pre-tax salary plus year-end performance of over 300,000 RMB.

The team will support and recommend applications for various funding programmes, including the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Programme, the Postdoctoral Science Fund Special Grant, the National Youth Fund, the Guangdong Provincial Natural Fund, and the Shenzhen Postdoctoral Living Allowance (120,000 for 2 years).

Post-doctoral students can receive a research grant of RMB 300,000 to stay in Shenzhen after leaving the station.

Outstanding performance during the working period can be recommended to apply for an associate professorship at Sun Yat-sen University. This recruitment information is valid for a long period of time and is open until filled.

Eligibility criteria:

The requirements for application are as follows.

  • (1) Candidates should have a foundation in immunology or inflammatory disease research, have obtained or will obtain a PhD, and have published research papers in international journals as first author during their PhD.
  • (2) The candidate should have the ability to conduct research independently, including good English reading and writing skills, and the ability to design and operate experiments.
  • (3) Good communication and team spirit, and the ability to lead postgraduate students in their work.
  • (4) In addition to the above requirements, candidates for Special Research Fellowship should also have postdoctoral experience.
