Scholarship:  Fully-funded
Degree:   Ph.D.
Nationality: International Students
Location: USA
Application deadlines: Open

Scholarship Description:

NCATS, a major research component of NIH seeks applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in bioanalytic assay development for therapeutical biologics in the intramural laboratories of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) within the Division of Preclinical Innovation.

DMPK Core partners with collaborators (academic institutions, foundations, and private industry) to conduct preclinical discovery and development studies leading to Investigational New Drug (IND) applications for new therapeutics. These projects are leads in the NCATS’ mission to develop new ways to reduce, remove or bypass bottlenecks across the entire translational science continuum and address rare and neglected diseases.

The salary range is commensurate with experience by the NIH Postdoctoral Intramural Research Training Award and Visiting Fellow Stipend Ranges for All Areas; health insurance benefits are available.

Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (investigation, verification of qualifications and requirements, submission of required documents, etc.). At the discretion of the supervisor and NIH policy, you may be eligible for workplace flexibilities, which may include remote work or telework options and/or flexible work scheduling. The NIH encourages the application and nomination of qualified women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities. DHHS and NIH are Equal Opportunity Employers.

Available Subjects:

  • he candidate will collaborate with team members to evaluate, develop, and implement bioanalytical assays to quantify therapeutical biologics and their carriers in blood and tissues for assigned projects as well as bioanalytical strategies for novel therapeutical biologics, such as peptides, conjugated peptides, monoclonal antibodies, engineered human proteins, antibody-drug conjugates, oligonucleotides, mRNAs, gene therapies and other novel modalities. To generate specific reagents for assay development and collaborate with biologists and researchers across teams within NCATS to address project-specific needs. To quantitatively analyze biological samples collected from preclinical pharmacokinetic and biodistribution studies, prepare documents for regulatory filing purposes, disseminate research via peer-reviewed publications and participate in scientific conferences and meetings. The candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve project, team, and organizational goals.
