Dr. Jian Huang’s research lab at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in Southern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Level II Research Technician. The candidate will support research on genetic and molecular mechanisms regulating hematopoietic stem cell function and leukemia drug resistance.
Responsibilities include conducting experiments in hematopoietic stem cell biology and leukemia research, both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have advanced technical expertise and experience in molecular biology, animal models, or related fields.
Available Subjects:
- Hematopoietic stem cell biology and leukemia research
Eligibility criteria:
- Maintaining, collecting and preparing records of data as well as results for presentations, papers, etc.
- Performing data analysis using statistical software packages
- Ordering supplies within the laboratory
- Examining instrument malfunctions in the laboratory and assisting with their repair
- Applying molecular and cell biology approaches to animal studies using mouse model of bone marrow transplantation
- Maintaining a mouse colony, contributing experimentally to ongoing research projects and overseeing general laboratory operations and laboratory supplies
- Maintaining laboratory bacterial culture stocks, mammalian cell culture stocks, DNA Plasmid stocks
- Training students in research methods and procedures as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned.
