Scholarship Description:

Research interests include functional materials, advanced manufacturing, laser technology, optics, functionalised textiles, wearable devices, robotic sensing and actuation, computer-aided design, machine learning, etc. Students and scholars with a broad academic background in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, manufacturing engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, etc. are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to students with research experience. The group is open to students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including mechanical engineering (manufacturing engineering), industrial engineering, environmental engineering, civil engineering, textile engineering, electrical engineering, computing, and research in laser multiscale processing, 3D printing, machine learning, wearable devices, bioelectronic devices, molecular dynamics modelling, composite materials manufacturing, robotics, porous carbon materials synthesis, etc. The research involves laser multiscale processing, 3D printing, machine learning, wearable devices, bioelectronic devices, molecular dynamics modelling, composite manufacturing, robotics, porous carbon synthesis, wastewater treatment, nanomaterials synthesis, metamaterials, acoustics, machine vision, electrostatic spinning, spinning and textile manufacturing, solar cells, lithium battery manufacturing.

UArk has an advanced research equipment platform and the laboratory will create its own unique research facilities, details of which can be found in the video call PI: Dr. Shou is currently a postdoctoral fellow at MIT and has an active research mind and extensive collaboration opportunities.
