Scholarship Description:
Dr. Jun He is a researcher and PhD supervisor. He has been selected as a member of the High Level Talent Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Tsinghua University, his PhD from Institute of Cancer Research in UK, postdoctoral fellow from Francis Crick Institute and senior researcher from UCB Pharma. He has long been involved in structural and functional studies of biomolecular machines and related drug discovery and development.
The lab’s focus is on studying the regulation of chromatin-related structure and function at multiple scales using various structural biology research tools such as single particle cryoelectron microscopy and in situ cryoelectron tomography, and carrying out structure-based rational drug molecule design.
Available Subjects:
- Biochemistry, structural biology or cell biology
Eligibility criteria:
- PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or cell biology within the last two years, with relevant experience in molecular genetics and biochemistry, able to design experiments and perform in vitro biochemical reconstitution and identification of multisubunit complexes.
- first authorship of high quality research papers in international journals, experience in cryo-electron microscopy and chromatin-related research is preferred.
- Strong intrinsic motivation to conduct exploratory research, ability to think and solve problems independently, and be able to conduct scientific research more independently; good communication skills and teamwork spirit.
