Scholarship Description:

NYU Langone Medical Center is one of the world’s preeminent academic medical centres and one of the nation’s leading centres of excellence in health care, biomedical research, and medical education. The Department of Population Health at NYU School of Medicine was established in 2012 and consists of the core areas of biostatistics, epidemiology, health behaviour change, comparative effectiveness and decision science, behavioural economics and health policy, and medical ethics.

The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr Jiyuan Hu, Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the NYU Biostatistics Resource, to develop statistical, machine learning, and AI approaches to advance the analysis of high-dimensional metagenome/microbiome, DNA-seq, and RNA-seq data from large-scale population studies. The candidate will also work with several research collaborators across the Medical School.

  • Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Ability to analyze high-dimensional `-omics dataset. 
  • Prior experience in statistical/machine/deep learning, statistical genetics research is highly preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and organizational skills.
