Scholarship Description:
The Lek Laboratory is located in the Department of Genetics at Yale University. Our lab studies all aspects of rare disease genetics: (1) novel gene discovery in large cohorts (2) development of methods to analyse genomic data (3) study of genetic disease mechanisms (4) design and translation of genetic therapies. We are a young and growing laboratory seeking candidates who are self-motivated, independent, quick learners with a team-first attitude.
You will be responsible for leading projects involving gene editing of muscle disease genes in patient cells and relevant mouse models. This will involve the design of gene correction and delivery strategies using a range of cell biology, molecular biology and muscle tissue histology approaches. You will be required to communicate results to collaborators and manage correspondence. Finally, you will be expected to mentor junior scientists and contribute to team projects.

Eligibility criteria:
- Postdoctoral associate: Ph.D. in Genetics, muscle biology or related discipline. Extensive experience in molecular biology and cell culture techniques is essential. Animal handling experience is high desired.
- Postgraduate associate: Bachelors degree in genetics, molecular biology or similar discipline.
