Scholarship Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in agricultural applications with a focus on automation and robotics. The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr Lirong Xiang and collaborate with other faculty at NC State University to conduct research projects, write high quality manuscripts, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, coordinate research and extension teams, and participate in grant writing. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must have strong track record in at least oneof the following areas: 
    • Robotic control and manipulation
    • Mechanical design
    • Electrical design 
    • Computer vision 
    • Machine learning, deep learning 
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, MATLAB)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
