Scholarship Description:

The Zhang Zhao Laboratory (ZZ-Lab, https://thezzlab.com) is located in the Department of Pharmacology and Tumour Biology, Duke University School of Medicine (https://pharmacology.duke.edu), USA. The laboratory is located in the scenic Golden Triangle of research in North Carolina, USA.

Our laboratory has a long-standing commitment to the development of our team members. Our team respects the interests and long-term career needs of each member and encourages open learning and collaboration. Thanks to the excellent research environment and the efforts of each member, the four postdoctoral fellows in our group have now become independent professors.

 Available Subjects:

The group currently has two main research interests:

  • (1) regulation and function of transposons under physiological and pathological conditions (focusing on interactions with the immune system and applications to cancer immunotherapy).
  • (2) Mechanisms and roles of cyclic DNA (ecDNA) production under physiological and pathological conditions (focusing on tumour as a model and aiming to develop novel cancer therapies targeting ecDNA).

Eligibility criteria:

  • PhD students with good training in molecular biology, or biochemistry, or genetics, or immunology, or oncology, or bioinformatics
