Scholarship Description:

We are seeking multiple postdoctoral research scholars, research assistants and technicians to work in Thomas Rutkowski lab at the department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Carver College of Medicine. (PI link: https://medicine.uiowa.edu/acb/profile/thomas-rutkowski).

The Rutkowski lab has been studying endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress since 1998. We are interested in the role of ER stress in the development of metabolic syndrome and liver diseases (NAFLD, NASH, HCC etc.). The lab is continuously funded by NIH grants and there are multiple exciting projects available to explore.

Eligibility criteria:

  • A background in cell and molecular biology.
  • The ability to analyze data and conduct experiments autonomously.
  • A record of authorship (for postdocs).Experience with ER stress, liver and/or metabolism would be a plus.
