Fully funded PhD positions are available in my group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Successful applicants will be expected to work on the development of innovative high performance computational methods, including reduced order modelling and scientific machine learning, for multi-scale modelling of additive manufacturing processes and materials.
Dr Ye Lu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UMBC. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from INSA Lyon, France in 2017. Prior to joining UMBC, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University from 2019 to 2022. He is the recipient of several first place awards for additive manufacturing modelling, including NIST AM bench 2022 and AFRL AM Modeling Challenge Series 2020.
