Scholarship Description:
Two fully funded graduate research assistant and Postdoc research associate positions available in Dr. Johnny (Liujun) Li’s group, Precision Agriculture and Intelligent Robotics Laboratory (PAIR), in the Department of Soil and Water Systems and Center for Intelligent Industrial Robotics (CI2R) at University of Idaho. Prospective graduate students will pursue actively NSF funded research in areas related to drones and robotics, sensor and controls, artificial intelligence and computing interfacing for climate-smart agriculture, soil and water, plant and animal production management. The anticipated start date is Spring 2023 or Fall 2023. The graduate assistant positions will provide stipends, tuition coverage, health insurance, travel support for conferences.
Available Subjects:
Agricultural/biological engineering, agronomy, soil science, water resource engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related disciplines.
Eligibility criteria:
- Experience or interest in one of the following areas: Precision agriculture, remote sensing, robotics control, computer vision, Machine learning/deep learning, Crop modeling and data analysis, Mechanical/Electrical design and optimization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, C/C++, MATLAB).
