Scholarship Description:

Dr Zongmin Zhao’s group at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy focuses on the development of next-generation drug delivery systems and novel cellular and immune therapies for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases using a cross-disciplinary approach that includes immunology, nanomedicine, gene editing, cellular engineering and immune engineering. Dr Zhao’s research has been published in several prestigious international journals, including Cell, Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Advances, PNAS, Advanced Materials, Advanced Science and Biomaterial.  Available Subjects:

  • The group is currently seeking two NIH-funded postdoctoral fellows. Research interests include drug delivery, immunotherapy and cell therapy. The postdocs will receive an NIH funding label.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Immunology, cell biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences.
  2. Viral or non-viral vector-based genetic engineering, gene editing, immunoengineering, cell therapy, biomaterials, microfluidics, cancer research, animal models, drug delivery, nanomedicineļ¼Œ3.
  3. in vivo experimentation, mammalian cell culture, PCR, western blotting, flow cytometry and molecular biology and immunology related techniques.
